Overview
Our client, a complex global manufacturing company is upgrading its tax department and seeking an individual interested in being the “right hand” to a new VP of Tax that has been brought into the company to be senior leadership to transform this department from a “compliance shop” to one that is lowering the tax rate and adding more business value.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong tax planning background, but enough exposure to compliance and tax accounting to assist in revamping processes, technology, and the staffing model used to get the compliance and tax accounting work completed.
This position offers:
- High Complexity – Join a de-centralized company with multiple business units with more than 200 global entities that operate in the most complex countries in the world from a tax perspective.
- Development to VP of Tax Role – Be groomed by a proven, successful, VP of Tax that is known for upgrading tax departments and be positioned to take over for this head of tax in the future!
- Ground Floor Rebuild – Step into an opportunity to put your fingerprint all over this tax department! This department is upgrading and this role will have the ability to shape the tax planning strategy for this company now and in the future!
- 12
-15 years of international/large multinational corporate tax experience, including significant leadership experience at a director level. A combination of Big Four public accounting, law firm, and manufacturing industry experience preferred. - Strong tax technical knowledge in the areas of international tax, M&A, and transfer pricing.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing international tax strategies, including working with the business to ensure planning strategies are executed.
- M&A experience, including due diligence and subsequent integration.
- Experience in financial reporting and US GAAP accounting principles related to international tax matters, including an understanding of how international planning impacts the effective tax rate.
- Ability to work independently and willingness to “roll-up sleeves”, with a positive “can do” attitude.
