Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly technical Sr. Cost Accountant with deep expertise in BOM (Bill of Materials), standard costing, and manufacturing cost analysis
. This role partners closely with operations, production, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost structures, optimize product profitability, and support global reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) for multiple product lines, ensuring accuracy in standard costs and inventory valuation.
- Prepare and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Investigate and report variances between actual and standard costs
, providing actionable insights to operations and leadership. - Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close
, including inventory and cost of goods sold reporting. - Collaborate with operations, procurement, and engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements for cost accounting processes.
- Generate and present technical cost reports, KPIs, and dashboards for finance leadership and business stakeholders.
- Partner with global teams on ERP, BOM, and process improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 3–5+ years of technical cost accounting experience
, preferably in manufacturing or distribution. - Strong experience managing BOMs
, standard costs, and manufacturing cost structures. - Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex cost structures to non-finance stakeholders.
