Financial Analyst I – McDermott Will & Schulte

The Financial Analyst prepares and delivers financial reports and analysis to the Firm’s expense managers and directors. The analyst works under general supervision and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Compile financial reports and analyze variances for actual performance vs. budget and prior year.
• Budget and forecast expenditures, including operating and personnel costs, to determine financial resource requirements and anticipated variances.
• Conduct monthly/bi-monthly review calls with budget owners to track progress vs. budget and forecast updates.
• Support the maintenance of the Firm’s financial software and reporting tools.
• Develop and deliver automated and ad‑hoc reports based on financial analysis reporting specifications.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve inquiries related to financial matters.
• Assist in compiling the monthly operations report.
• Perform ongoing audits of financial system data to ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standard operating procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one (1) year of related work experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Familiarity with financial reporting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.

Target Hiring Range: $81,000 - $102,000

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, talk and hear.
• Employee must occasionally lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
