The General Ledger Associate will be responsible for assigned entities to deliver month‑end financial results in a timely manner to report to both the parent company and its investors. The Associate will establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process to operate in an efficient and effective manner. The Associate will collaborate closely with the Investment Controlling Development Team to assist in projects analysis, maintain a high‑quality, deliverable‑focused culture within the team, and continuously improve the efficiency of the accounting and reporting processes.
RoleResponsibilities
- Perform various month end close duties, including preparing standard and miscellaneous journal entries, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forward schedules
- Analyze Development and Overhead PnL activity
- Review & prepare site accruals as well as AP accruals for Development entities and projects
- Reconcile Solar/Wind Development and Impairment Costs
- Prepare monthly/quarterly US GAAP financial statements for review by the FR team
- Prepare RACE TS Adjustments on a quarterly basis
- Provide ad‑hoc analysis as needed for internal customers and assist in special projects
- Prepare responses to accounting related inquiries both internal and external auditors
- Maintain a high quality, deliverable‑focused culture within the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA license preferred
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work in the energy industry or related field
- Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi‑task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detail‑oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Pay rangeThe annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $64,000 - $96,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
