We are seeking a skilled Corporate Tax Manager to join a dynamic corporate tax team focused on business income tax planning, compliance, and ASC 740 (income tax accounting). In this role, you'll be a key player in managing multiple client engagements, with a blend of tax provision preparation, audit support, and corporate compliance work. The position is hybrid, requiring at least two days per week onsite in the Chicago office.
You’ll play a leadership role in supervising team members, managing projects from initiation through completion, and serving as a primary point of contact for client engagements. This opportunity offers exposure to a collaborative culture with national team integration, including working with subject matter experts across specialized tax disciplines.
- Lead client engagements from planning through completion, maintaining quality and budget expectations
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members
- Review tax returns and identify tax savings strategies
- Manage and conduct ASC 740 tax provision projects
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Build strong client relationships and maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Participate in ongoing training and development
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license (or JD with active law license).
- 47 years of progressive experience in corporate tax compliance and/or consulting.
- Hands-on experience with ASC 740 tax provisions.
- Must be based in Chicago or open to relocation.
- Prior work experience in a Top 15 accounting firm in recent years.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, corporate income tax laws, and state/local tax compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills.
- Public accounting or professional services background.
- Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision software.
- Demonstrated career stability (no frequent short-term job changes).
- Exposure to taxation of international activity and transfer pricing.
