This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in the Des Moines Metropolitan Area for a Chief Accountant. The Chief Accountant will oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and manage general ledger operations. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, coordinating audits, preparing budget reports, and supervising accounting staff. This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization while supporting decision‑making processes.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance with accounting standards
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and auditing processes
• Advanced skills in accounting software, data analysis tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Leadership capabilities, with experience supervising accounting teams and collaborating across departments
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, and communication skills
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is highly desirable
