Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator for a growing mortgage lender. This full-time, commission-based role is ideal for a sales-driven professional focused on building referral-based loan volume across the Chicago region.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development: Generate loan volume via referral relationships with realtors, brokers, financial advisors, and other industry partners. Attend events, seminars, and networking opportunities to drive leads.
- Loan Origination: Interview and pre-qualify borrowers, educate them on loan options, collect documentation, and provide required disclosures.
- Processing & Closing: Coordinate with borrowers and partners through closing, order legal/title documents, review disclosures, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- 1–2 years mortgage origination experience with proven referral-based volume
- Knowledge of underwriting, mortgage programs, and federal/state regulations (TILA, RESPA)
- Strong sales, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a commission-driven environment
- Commission-based (regional variation)
- Remote flexibility with optional office access
- Operational support
