We are looking for a VP, Revenue Accounting to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Position Summary

Our client is hiring a Vice President of Revenue Accounting for a hybrid position in Chicago, IL. This executive will oversee all revenue accounting operations, drive compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting. The VP will develop scalable accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and lead a high-performing revenue accounting team.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the company’s revenue accounting strategy and revenue close cycle
  • Ensure full compliance with ASC 606 and all revenue recognition requirements
  • Manage revenue policies, documentation, and on‑going operational execution
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Sales, Legal, and Operations to review contracts and revenue-impacting terms
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue results and forecasts
  • Implement system improvements and process automation for scalable revenue operations
  • Maintain strong internal controls over revenue systems and documentation
  • Oversee internal and external audit activities related to revenue
  • Provide executive-level insights on revenue trends and financial performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting with a focus on revenue recognition
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and complex revenue models
  • Leadership experience managing and developing revenue or technical accounting teams
  • Ability to evaluate contracts, pricing structures, and revenue terms in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
