Head of Investment Accounting

A prominent Chicago-based family office managing institutionally sized portfolios across private equity, hedge funds, and other alternative investments is hiring a Performance Accounting Manager to join their investment accounting team. The firm invests globally in LP structures through best-in-breed third-party managers.

What you'd be doing:

• Serving as the firm's subject matter expert on performance accounting, bridging the operations and investor relations teams
• Reviewing and inputting statements, generating performance reporting across all client portfolios
• Tracking and reconciling unfunded commitments for private equity investments
• Calculating monthly cash balances and reconciliations across all managed portfolios
• Monitoring redemptions, maintaining investment and investor records in Backstop
• Supporting quarterly reporting and investment committee materials
• Providing performance reporting to third parties for foundation entities

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, CPA a plus
• 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a background in fund investments or alternatives
• Experience with performance reporting software
• Detail-oriented, self-starter who takes pride in accuracy and thrives in a deadline-driven environment
