What You Will Do
- Lead the evaluation and application of ASC 606 for federal contracting, including identifying performance obligations, determining transaction price, assessing variable consideration, and evaluating contract modifications.
- Assess principal vs. agent considerations for subcontracting, pass-throughs, and teaming partner arrangements.
- Conduct technical accounting analysis for new awards, IDIQ task orders, extensions, options, and scope changes.
- Maintain compliant documentation supporting revenue positions for internal and external audit.

What You Will DoRevenue Recognition & Technical Accounting- Lead the evaluation and application of ASC 606 for federal contracting, including identifying performance obligations, determining transaction price, assessing variable consideration, and evaluating contract modifications.
- Assess principal vs. agent considerations for subcontracting, pass-throughs, and teaming partner arrangements.
- Conduct technical accounting analysis for new awards, IDIQ task orders, extensions, options, and scope changes.
- Maintain compliant documentation supporting revenue positions for internal and external audit.
- Ensure accounting and reporting practices are consistent with internal controls and corporate policies.
- Work closely with the Contracts team to interpret contractual terms affecting revenue, billing, and cost recognition.
- Review or oversee revenue treatment for subcontractors, ODCs, and pass-through expenses in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Review contract-level performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and accounting impacts.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, data quality, and internal controls across the revenue cycle.
- Lead or support policy updates and process standardization initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to project managers and project finance on revenue concepts and contract compliance.
- Support internal and external auditors, responding to requests and providing required analyses.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and audit schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience; OR 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in federal government contracting or professional services.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, contract-driven environment.
- Proactive problem solver with strong business judgment.
- Excellent collaborator and communicator across technical and operational teams.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Experience in large consulting or federal services firms.
- Experience with Costpoint and Power BI preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle FCCS financial reporting tools.
- Prior leadership or team management experience.
- Strong Excel and data analytics skills (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
