Director of SEC Reporting

LaSalle Network has partnered with a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar insurance and financial services company headquartered in downtown Chicago to find their next Director of SEC & Financial Reporting
.

If you are a CPA with deep SEC reporting experience who thrives in a complex, multi-framework environment — this one is worth a look. This is a high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of external reporting, senior leadership, and audit — with real ownership and a clear path for growth.

Our client is a large, established insurance and financial services organization with exposure across multiple verticals of insurance and multiple accounting frameworks — SEC, GAAP, Statutory, and ERISA. They have a strong track record of developing people into senior roles across the business.

This role requires a hybrid in office schedule in the Loop 3x a week. Budget for this role is up to a base salary of $195,000 with additional bonus eligibility. A comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical / dental / vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.

• End-to-end SEC filing process — 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K, and related documents
• Quarterly reporting workflow from preparation through filing
• MD&A drafting in partnership with senior leadership
• External audit management and response coordination
• Accounting Policy coordination and SEC disclosure compliance
• Leadership and development of a two-person team

• 7–10 years in public accounting and/or SEC reporting at a large public company
• CPA required
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements
• Experience in a large ERP environment;
  Workday and Workiva experience a plus
• Strong writer with exceptional attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage complex issues and communicate across all levels of leadership
