Business Controller, XR

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
• Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation.
• Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross‑functional and international teams.
• Ability to propose next steps and roadblock solutions, anticipate questions and challenges early, manage time, and follow work plans.
• Excellent investigative skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities  know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end to end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

Our team works very closely with the Product, Engineering, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal, Treasury and Tax teams on operationalizing and scaling new business models and products from the very beginning of product ideation all the way through post‑launch support and ongoing financial reporting including month and quarter end close.

As the XR Business Controller, you will be responsible for the XR portfolio within the Platforms and Devices Product Area and work closely with a group of cross‑functional leaders to launch new products and programs and manage both management and GAAP based financial reporting requirements.
