Senior Accountant

Hybrid | Chicago | Family Office Environment

A well-established, multi-generational family office based in Chicago is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its collaborative and highly professional accounting team. This role supports complex investment structures, operating entities, and philanthropic initiatives within a sophisticated private investment environment.

This opportunity is ideal for someone currently working in a family office or closely held investment environment who enjoys broad exposure, ownership, and working in a high-integrity, relationship-driven setting.

• Prepare and post journal entries; maintain general ledger activity
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Process capital calls and distributions across investment entities
• Assist in preparing quarterly financial reports and statements
• Prepare tax work papers (partnerships, S-Corps, fiduciary entities, etc.)
• Support the annual tax return process in partnership with external advisors
• Assist with external audit requests and special projects

This role offers exposure to complex entity structures and investment activity in a long-term, strategic capital environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2–5 years of accounting experience
• Prior family office experience strongly preferred
• CPA preferred
• Experience with investment entities, capital activity, and tax support
• Strong Excel skills and comfort managing multiple entities
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
