Transactional Tax Planning Attorney

A leading Am Law–caliber law firm is seeking a Tax Planning Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its transactional tax practice. This role offers exposure to a broad range of sophisticated tax matters and close collaboration with corporate, finance, and real estate teams. Associates in this group work on complex, high-value transactions for institutional clients, private equity sponsors, and strategic investors across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Finance and structured finance transactions
• Real estate investments
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Inbound and outbound cross-border investments
• Support tax structuring and planning for complex commercial transactions
• Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, finance, and real estate practices
• Draft and review tax analyses, memoranda, and transaction documents
• Participate in deal execution and client advisory work

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of transactional tax experience
• Background at a nationally recognized law firm or accounting firm
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills
• Interest in working collaboratively across practice groups
• Admitted to practice in the applicable jurisdiction or eligible for admission on waiver
