Our AmLaw 100 client is building out its financial regulatory bench and is hiring a mid level associate to join a nationally recognized Financial Services and Securities Enforcement team. This role sits within a practice that regularly advises financial institutions, fintech companies, and payments platforms on regulatory exposure, product development, and government scrutiny.
Openings are available in New York, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles, and San Francisco .
Role SummaryYou will work on a mix of regulatory counseling, enforcement matters, and compliance strategy for clients operating in the financial services and payments ecosystem. The work spans:
- Advising fintech companies and financial institutions on payment products and regulatory risk
- Handling state and federal regulatory inquiries and investigations
- Counseling clients on licensing, money transmission, and compliance obligations
- Supporting rule making analysis and regulatory strategy
- Working with clients navigating consumer financial protection statutes and related regulatory frameworks
This team regularly advises companies operating across domestic and international markets and is known for its work at the intersection of fintech innovation and financial regulation.
Candidate Profile- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial regulatory, fintech, or consumer financial services work
- Familiarity with statutes such as FCRA, FDCPA, ECOA, SCRA, MLA, TILA, EFTA, GLBA, and TCPA
- Experience advising financial services or fintech clients on compliance and regulatory exposure
- Strong academic credentials and clear, precise writing
- Active bar admission in the state of the office you are joining
This practice advises clients at the center of the evolving payments and fintech market. Associates work closely with partners on regulatory strategy, product counseling, and enforcement matters rather than sitting on the margins of large teams.
The platform offers a national financial regulatory practice with cross office collaboration, direct client interaction, and a steady flow of matters tied to the rapid growth of digital payments and financial technology.
Compensation follows the AmLaw market scale with a salary range of approximately $260,000 to $365,000 , depending on experience and location.
