About the Opportunity
We are looking for a technically sharp Senior Tax Accountant with a dedicated focus on Estate and Trust services to join our growing team. In this role, you will do more than just process returns; you will be a vital consultant helping high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses protect and transition their legacies.
As a Senior Specialist, you will take ownership of complex projects from inception to completion, managing your own schedule while providing essential coaching to junior team members. If you have a passion for the intricate details of fiduciary taxation and a drive for professional growth, we have the perfect seat for you.
The Impact You Will Make
- Specialized Compliance: Lead the preparation of complex Form 1041 (Fiduciary), Form 709 (Gift), and Form 706 (Estate) tax returns, as well as final returns for deceased taxpayers.
- Structural Analysis: Review trust agreements and wills to interpret estate structures and determine the most effective filing strategies.
- Strategic Advisory: Partner with managers and partners to consult on tax and financial planning for family-owned businesses and individuals.
- Technical Research: Navigate complex estate and trust regulations, conducting deep-dive research to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Project Management: Oversee monthly and quarterly accounting projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability while maintaining our high-quality standards.
- Mentorship & Culture: Set the bar for high energy and enthusiasm within the team, providing guidance and coaching to emerging talent.
- Business Development: Actively participate in networking and marketing initiatives to help expand the firm's reputation and client base.
- Experience: At least 3+ years of current experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on estates and trusts.
- Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Licensure: CPA certification is preferred, or currently eligible and motivated to sit for the CPA exam.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern tax software, MS Office, and Quick Books.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information and legal documents.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to build immediate rapport with clients and stakeholders.
We offer a collaborative environment that values both your technical expertise and your individual career goals.
- Competitive Pay: A strong base salary range of $105k-$115k with merit-based growth.
- Professional Support: Full support for CPA candidates and continuous self-development opportunities.
- Autonomy: The flexibility to manage your own work schedule and project components.
- Strategic Role: A chance to specialize in a high-demand niche within a supportive, multi-location firm.
