Job Overview
CME Group is launching a new Securities Clearing House that will initially provide clearing services for cash treasuries and Bilateral Tri‑party Repo. The Consultant will be responsible for daily monitoring of market risk, managing obligations in the event of a clearing member default, and performing in‑depth research and analysis of market, credit, and trading data to identify risks, develop mitigation processes, and present findings to senior management.
Key duties include daily assessments of market conditions, acting as the first line of defense against systemic, idiosyncratic and counter party‑specific risks, creating reports for internal governance committees, measuring key risks, and escalating issues as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with market risk, financial surveillance, and other departments to familiarize stakeholders with counter party credit, liquidity, and collateral risk profiles.
- Perform daily procedures to monitor risk to the clearinghouse, including credit and liquidity stress testing, and escalating findings as necessary.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable regulations at both domestic and international levels and maintain a firm grasp of rules in the clearinghouse’s rule book.
- Use technical skills, including programming and financial mathematics, to maintain models.
- Assist in preparing responses to ad‑hoc regulatory requests.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income, Cash Treasuries, and Repo Markets.
- Experienced in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg.
- Familiarity with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) and SQL.
- Ability to manipulate large data sets.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of financial analysis at an intermediate level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Fixed‑term consultancy from 6/01/2026 to 12/31/2026. Hourly pay range $45–$55, dependent on experience, skills, and other factors.
