Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Nonprofit
Salary range: $150,000 – $180,000
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join a mission‑driven, growing nonprofit organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership and the board to guide financial strategy, ensure fiscal sustainability, and support programmatic growth.

Key Responsibilities of the CFO:
- Provide overall financial leadership and strategic guidance to executive leadership and the board
- Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and month‑end close
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and grant guidelines
- Lead treasury functions, including cash flow management, forecasting, and investment strategies
- Direct the annual budgeting process and long‑term financial planning; monitor performance against budget
- Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and insights to support organizational decision‑making
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team
- Oversee annual audits, tax filings, and external audit relationships
- Manage nonprofit contracts and funding relationships with government agencies
- Support financial operations related to social service programs, including Medi‑Cal billing, behavioral health, family services, and case management
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management, audits, and compliance
- Experience with treasury management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Experience working with social service agencies and publicly funded programs
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong executive leadership and team development skills
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and problem‑solving abilities
- Effective communicator and collaborative leader
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment
