The AVP will conduct independent research into economic, capital market, and property market trends to support Heitman's real estate investment decisions globally. The role is based in Heitman's Chicago headquarters and requires four days per week in-office attendance, with moderate to extensive travel expected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking market conditions across property sectors including office, industrial, multifamily, retail, and alternatives
- Synthesizing data from multiple market sources to identify investment opportunities and risks
- Building and maintaining financial models to analyze investment strategies and portfolio performance
- Collaborating with acquisition teams to support underwriting and deal evaluation
- Supporting portfolio management functions through ongoing performance monitoring and strategic analysis
- Writing thought leadership content and research reports for internal stakeholders and institutional clients
- Presenting findings to portfolio managers, investment committees, and external clients
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in real estate, economics, finance, or a related discipline and has a minimum of five years of direct real estate investment analysis experience. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required, along with strong data visualization skills. The candidate must be able to work independently on tight deadlines while communicating complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Compensation ranges from $115,000 to $140,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility. Heitman operates globally across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
