About Bet Smart

Bet Smart is redefining the future of sports betting through design-forward thinking, advanced

data science, and a thesis that resonates. We’re a fast-moving team blending analytics,

technology, and creativity to build a smarter, more intuitive sports betting experience.

We are now seeking a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead Bet Smart’s capital formation and

investor strategy — someone who brings institutional credibility, deep fundraising experience,

and the ability to communicate complex strategies to sophisticated investors. This is not a

traditional portfolio management role. Instead, it is focused on scaling capital inflows, leading

investor engagement, and establishing investment governance frameworks.

The Role

As CIO, you will be the architect of Bet Smart’s capital strategy, responsible for building trusted

relationships with LPs, raising new capital, and guiding high-level investment governance

decisions. You’ll work alongside our executive team to shape how we present our thesis to the

market, structure capital vehicles, and establish a formal investment committee to review

strategy shifts in our algorithmically-driven platform.

We’re looking for a capital markets leader with fundraising experience at the fund level, a strong

LP network, and a collaborative approach to institutional governance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all fundraising initiatives across fund structures and vehicles

• Build and manage relationships with family offices, institutional LPs, and sophisticated HNW

investors

• Develop and iterate investor communications, pitch materials, and due diligence frameworks

• Structure fund terms, raise tranches, and manage close processes

Investor Relations & Communication

• Serve as the face of Bet Smart for investors — articulating strategy, performance, and market

opportunity
• Manage quarterly investor updates, virtual data rooms, and capital calls

• Develop LP onboarding protocols and serve as their primary point of contact

• Proactively engage investors with transparency and institutional-grade reporting

Governance & Strategic Oversight

• Help establish an internal investment committee with voting authority on key strategic or

algorithmic changes

• Collaborate with compliance, legal, and executive leadership on fund governance and risk

frameworks

• Guide strategic decisions related to asset allocation across our algorithmic products and capital

vehicles

Partnerships & Expansion

• Identify and close strategic capital partnerships to enable new fund launches or product

expansions

• Explore co-investment opportunities and institutional collaborations that align with our thesis

• Represent Bet Smart at key industry conferences, capital formation summits, and investor

What You Bring

Experience

• 10+ years in capital formation, investor relations, or fund leadership roles at hedge funds,

alternatives platforms, or venture-backed financial firms

• Demonstrated success raising capital from institutional investors or large family offices

• Strong understanding of fund structures, LP-GP relationships, and fundraising operations

• Prior experience working with or within a fund that uses quantitative or algorithmic strategies

(a plus, not a must)

Skills

• Proven ability to communicate complex investment theses to diverse investor audiences

• Expert in building and managing investor pipelines and CRM workflows

• Strong understanding of fund economics, term sheet structuring, and legal fundraising

frameworks

• Strategic thinker with excellent judgment, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Mindset

Mission-driven and commercially astute with a founder’s mentality

• Collaborative and transparent with a…
