Head of Fund Raising and Investor Relations

Systima Capital Management ("Systima") is a Chicago-based multi-strategy investment manager focused on private credit and private equity investments in the real estate and infrastructure sectors especially housing and other public-purpose asset classes. Systima manages assets on behalf of U.S. and foreign institutional investors including pension funds, family offices, foundations, and other institutions. Systima has built an investment business and firm culture characterized by critical thinking and innovation, resulting in a number of investing “market firsts”.

We are seeking a Head of Fund Raising & Investor Relations with diverse experience raising capital for alternative investment vehicles, including co-mingled funds. The ideal candidate will have experience as an internal fundraiser at an alternative asset manager or a fund placement agent. Experience in the real estate sector for private credit or private equity is a plus but not required.

In addition, fundraising experience with a variety of investors, including pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, insurance, private wealth and high net worth individuals is also a positive.

In addition to leading Systima’s fundraising efforts, this candidate will have the opportunity to become a senior leader and help chart the firm’s growth and success.

• Develop and implement fund marketing strategies as well as investment vehicle structures to attract new investors.
• Identify and target potential investors, including institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, family offices and other relevant capital partners in the U.S., Canada and overseas.
• Collaborate closely with investment team to best align investment products and performance with fundraising efforts and outreach.
• Organize and attend investor meetings, conferences, and networking events to promote the fund and its investment opportunities.
• Manage investor due diligence processes, coordinating due diligence questionnaires, data rooms and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Maintain ongoing communication with existing investors by responding to investor inquiries, preparing and distributing quarterly reports and updates, organizing annual meetings and LP calls, and handling capital call and distribution notices.

• Bachelor’s or advanced degrees.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in investor relations, capital raising, or related roles.
• Track record raising capital for alternative funds from a wide and diverse group of investors.
• Ability to market new and innovative investment strategies and offerings to investors in the U.S. as well as globally.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Chicago based professional is preferred but remote location is also possible.
