Position Overview

Stout’s Directors will lead teams in delivering high‑quality advisory services to our private equity and corporate clients. They will shape account strategies, conduct advanced financial analysis, and collaborate directly with senior client leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive private equity and M&A‑related project processes from start to finish, ensuring high‑quality insight and impact.
  • Support analysis of marketplace trends, develop investment theses, and inform decision‑making for Stout clients.
  • Develop thoughtful approaches, work plans, and frameworks for inorganic strategies (buy‑side and sell‑side diligences).
  • Manage validation of financial, commercial, and strategic assumptions for corporate and financial buyers.
  • Oversee and conduct original research, contact development, primary intelligence, and executive‑level interviewing.
  • Ensure delivery of best‑in‑class materials, exceeding client expectations on research depth, analytical rigor, and visualization.
  • Partner with clients on engagements, cultivating collaboration and providing high‑touch service.
  • Coach and nurture junior staff, providing developmental opportunities and clear feedback.
  • Act as a role model for junior staff by embodying Stout’s values.
Required Qualifications
  • BA or BS in Economics, Business, Finance, Data Science, or related field (with a strong academic record).
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in consulting or industry, including commercial due diligence and transaction‑related services to private equity fund clients.
  • Strong networking and executive‑level interviewing skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and advanced Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with Tableau, R, or Python is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, writing, analysis, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Foreign‑language capabilities are a plus.
