The Senior Associate will be located in Chicago and report to the CEO and senior professionals within development and acquisitions. QCP is an entrepreneurial organization offering a unique opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the real estate acquisition, development, and investment process from initial sourcing, underwriting, and acquisition to development/construction and asset management/disposition. The Senior Associate will play a key role in new business pursuits, including detailed underwriting and financial modeling for both core acquisitions and development, market research, and due diligence, as well as various activities associated with capital raising, financing, portfolio management, and asset management as needed.

Responsibilities Development & Acquisition Execution
  • Work directly with the development and acquisitions teams and senior leadership to underwrite and execute new developments, acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings.
  • Manage market research and property due diligence, including real estate tax projections.
  • Coordinate transactions from preliminary deal screening to executing due diligence through closing.
  • Drive analytical support of detailed cash flow models incorporating distribution waterfalls, sensitivity matrices, IRR, NPV, and more.
  • Build investment committee memos, investor presentations, financing memorandums, internal briefs, and related support material.

Support strategic and ongoing operational processes at the property and fund level.

Asset Management & Value Creation
  • Support the asset management team in the execution of asset-level business plans.
  • Support valuations, reporting, investor communications, and disposition analyses.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Interface with internal teams across acquisitions, development, asset management, and finance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Four to seven years of multifamily development or acquisitions experience at an owner/operator, developer, or private equity firm.
  • Deep knowledge of institutional real estate with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with an established track record of working effectively and independently.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and superior analytical, quantitative, writing, and technical/computer skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to build and modify models for a variety of investment and capital structures.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools (Claude, Gemini) to expedite data analysis, writing, and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
