The Food, Beverage, and Agribusiness Corporate Banking Director is a key leader role responsible for revenue generation, sourcing, structuring, and closing complex transactions. This individual will lead client acquisition efforts, deepen relationships across ONB’s product suite, and drive fee income through strategic market participation. The role requires strong sales acumen, deep market knowledge, and the ability to navigate sophisticated financial structures while maintaining a client‑first mindset.
In addition, this player/coach will have responsibility for assisting in the talent recruitment for new talent needs, as well as ongoing coaching of the existing Bankers and/or Portfolio Bankers to maximize talents, ensure career development and achieve successful performance outcomes. They will provide guidance to those on the team, partner on exception and/or escalation needs, and collaborate across the department both internally within the line of business, internally with other functions such as Credit, and with external clients.
SalaryRange
The salary range for this position is $106,100/yr – $214,600/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
KeyAccountabilities Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Source and originate loan transactions across new and existing clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, syndication desks, brokers, clients, and financial sponsors.
- Leverage ONB’s full suite of capabilities—including treasury management, swaps, FX, 401(k), and 1834—to deepen client relationships and drive cross‑sell opportunities.
- Communicate ONB’s appetite and participate in primary market offerings with counter parties.
- Negotiate, structure, and close complex Corporate Banking transactions.
- Generate fee income through syndication fees, upfront fees, OID, amendment fees, unused fees, and IB/Capital Markets partnership fees.
- Thoughtfully evaluate risk/return across the portfolio, providing relative value analysis to optimize returns.
- Trade bank loans on a secondary market basis with approved counter parties, managing exposure and mitigating risk.
- Use Clear Par to review loan sales and trading documentation, ensuring timely closings and accurate compensation.
- Close primary and secondary trades in coordination with loan closers and operations, ensuring systems reflect accurate loan terms.
- Collaborate with underwriting to prepare credit presentations, amendments, waivers, and other transaction‑related documentation.
