Financial Manager, CFO
Chicago Athletic Association is seeking a Finance Business Partner (Director of Finance) to partner with hotel leadership in driving financial performance and strategy. Reporting to the General Manager, this leader will guide strategic decision-making, financial planning, budgeting, and oversight of financial operations.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, direct and oversee the hotel’s financial and control functions, providing strategic financial guidance and clear reporting on operational performance.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage on-site and off-site accounting functions, including budgeting, month-end close, cash management and capital planning.
- Develop and implement the annual business plan in alignment with overall objectives.
- Oversee year-end processes, audits, reconciliations and external audit requests.
- Internal Controls & Risk
- Ensure adherence to HMA terms, reporting obligations, internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Lead and manage SOX compliance requirements.
- Monitor industry trends, local legislation and organizational dynamics.
- Operational Leadership
- Mentor the finance team, provide training and performance feedback.
- Support development of future leaders across hotel functions.
- Empower employees with financial insights for decision-making.
- Oversee IT and procurement functions with strong operational understanding.
- Respond to ownership/ad-hoc requests and determine appropriate actions.
- Business Partnership
- Collaborate with hotel leadership to execute strategies that drive cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
- Oversee third-party F&B provider compliance and financial consolidation.
- Maintain relationships with ownership representatives and stakeholders.
- Embrace a growth mindset and create value for stakeholders.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive finance experience; hospitality or retail background preferred.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse backgrounds.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Salary range: $126,000 - $157,500, commensurate with experience.
