Assistant Controller

We are supporting a growing Chicago-based law firm that is looking to add an Assistant Controller to its finance team. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the accounting close process, improving financial operations, and partnering with firm leadership to support continued growth.

This role offers a mix of hands‑on accounting, financial reporting, revenue cycle oversight, and team leadership. The firm is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and continues to grow, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on broader responsibilities and have a meaningful impact on the business.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience managing month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Background overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas
• Experience with in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus

• Base salary ranging from $100,000 to $125,000 depending on experience
