Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury functions.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve performance and profitability.
- Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, product costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, material usage, and production variances.
- Monitor inventory controls and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
- Partner with operations leadership to improve manufacturing performance and cost management.
- Review bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and production reporting for financial accuracy.
- Support pricing strategies through product cost analysis and margin reporting.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Develop financial models and operational forecasts.
- Monitor actual results against budget and identify key performance drivers.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Oversee tax reporting support and compliance activities.
- Manage and mentor accounting and finance team members.
- Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, purchasing, and leadership teams to drive business performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
