Responsibilities
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate the Finance Department ensuring it comprises top talent.
  • Assist in preparing financial operation statements and reports in accordance with Corporate Policy/Procedure.
  • Assist departments with the interpretation, orientation, training, and analysis of revenue, payroll, and expense matters.
  • Maintain system accounts and controls to provide accurate data needed for all accounting reports and statements.
  • Actively participate in ensuring clean internal and external audit reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries; ensure efficient completion of all month‑end functions for review with the Area Director, Finance & Business Support.
  • Monitor, supervise, and prepare month‑end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Oversee and manage the monthly forecast; work with department heads to create accurate forecasts within Accor’s accuracy guidelines.
  • Participate in meetings with the owners as directed by the Director of Finance.
  • Participate in creating the annual operation budgets and capital budgets.
  • Oversee and manage the Accounts Receivable team, supporting the Director of Finance; billing is overseen by the Director.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily, semi‑monthly, and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel financial technology systems, including software applications.
  • Actively contribute to hotel overall leadership and direction.
  • Participate in periodic inventory procedures.
  • Track contracts and ensure compliance and timely renewal.
  • Ensure financial records and transactions are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Analyze business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and internal process steps; recommend new processes or solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Actively participate in departmental colleague engagement efforts.
  • Follow all safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all hotel systems and internal controls.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Finance (preferred).
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Hotel finance experience and previous finance experience at a management level.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing highly motivated and cross‑trained group of progressive financial professionals.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications or relevant computer applications required; knowledge of OPERA, GFS/SUN, Hyperion, POS.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible & reliable; able to work independently.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.

  • Occasional standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
