Billing Specialists work hand‑in‑hand with the Portfolio Management team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and the processing of incoming payments and paperwork. The ideal candidate will undertake a variety of financial and non‑financial tasks in order to help guarantee the company’s revenues. Must have strong attention to detail and experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Issue and post invoices and bills
- Assume responsibility of receiving and sorting incoming payments with attention to detail
- Update accounts receivable database with payments received and missed payments
- Ensure all clients remain informed of outstanding invoices and due dates
- Provide solutions to relative problems of clients
- Write thorough reports on billing activity with clear and reliable data
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or BA with minimum 3.5 GPA required
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in a billing specialist position
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail and trustworthiness
- Results driven and patient
- Able to successfully multitask, work towards extremely challenging goals, and persist in the face of obstacles
- Able to effectively handle difficult requests, build long‑term relationships with the business, and be able to manage expectations
- Self‑starter who thinks ahead, anticipates questions, finds alternative solutions, and identifies clear objectives
- Strong analytical skills and organizational skills
- Critical thinking, ability to suggest improvements and identify risks
- Able to adapt to changes and new challenges
- Able to communicate effectively and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Able to demonstrate accuracy, good judgment, initiative and discretion in business related transactions
- Experience in deregulated power and gas industry preferred, but not required
