Relationship Advisor, Wealth Management
As a Relationship Advisor within Northern Trust’s Wealth Advisory team, you will lead client conversations for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals. Your primary responsibilities include managing complex client relationships, delivering fiduciary and administrative services, and collaborating with service teams and professional advisors to implement advisory solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain overall client satisfaction by coordinating with internal specialists and external advisors.
- Manage a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, leveraging knowledge of fiduciary duties, trust and tax law, estate planning, asset management, and prudent investment principles.
- Provide proactive advice on product offerings, regulatory and tax changes, and appropriate actions for clients.
- Explain complex concepts clearly in non‑technical language.
- Recognize fiduciary risk issues and pursue appropriate resolution.
- Develop relationships with referral sources and external professionals to grow the business.
- Participate in community and professional organizations and lead fiduciary projects or committees.
- Mentor less experienced partners and provide leadership across fiduciary initiatives.
- 7–10 years’ experience in relationship management, trust administration, estate administration, or estate planning with HNW/UHNW clients preferred.
- Experience managing portfolios exceeding $1million or $1billion in AUM.
- Strong knowledge of fiduciary standards, legal, tax, investment, and operational issues.
- Excellent negotiating, problem‑solving, and sales skills.
- Leadership and organizational skills to set business unit goals and develop staff.
- JD, CFP, CPWA, or other professional designations are strongly desired.
Salary Range: $114,500 – $194,700 USD (base pay)
