Salary: $73,738 – $81,385 yearly

Perform diverse and complex financial, compliance, and operational audits of County agencies or businesses. Collaborate with colleagues during all phases of the audit process, including developing audit plans, objectives, scope, and procedures. Prepare audit programs, complete audits on time and within budget, and escalates any barriers or issues related to the audit in a timely manner. Gather and analyze sufficient evidence and data to reach conclusions on audit objectives.
Conduct interviews with County agencies/bureaus, document internal control structures, and prepare audit reports and management letters. Assist with following up on the implementation of audit recommendations and communicate results of audits to leadership.
This position may be eligible for a signing bonus.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a directly related field.
- Two (2) years of audit, accounting, finance, compliance, risk control, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Degrees awarded outside the United States (except U.S. territories and Canada) must be credentialed by WES, ECE, or a NACES member organization.
- Experience conducting audits under Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards.
- Experience conducting performance and/or operational audits of government entities.
- Knowledge of GAGAS, IIA Global Internal Audit Standards and/or GAAP.
- Ability to comprehend laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Ability to identify possible errors, irregularities, and illegal acts to ascertain compliance with laws and ordinances.
- Ability to interact with clients in resolving difficult audit issues.
- Ability to communicate with others objectively and tactfully, both verbally and in written formats.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
- Ability to travel to various work locations throughout the County.
Sedentary work that involves lifting or moving up to 10 pounds occasionally or a negligible amount frequently. The work involves sitting most of the time with brief walking or standing periods.
