Commercial Senior Portfolio Manager - CRE

General Function:
The Commercial Senior Portfolio Manager is a key member of the coverage team, overseeing the management of a portfolio of CRE loan transactions. The role involves in-depth credit analysis, structuring deals, monitoring performance, and collaborating closely with Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts to ensure the portfolio remains within the bank’s risk appetite while driving profitability.

• Manage a portfolio of commercial loan accounts.
• Review and recommend credit decisions.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to assess client viability, define borrowers and guarantors, structure deals, and set credit terms.
• Prepare and generate commitment letters.
• Provide business partners with credit policy interpretation.
• Perform final risk rating analysis and document decisions and conditions.
• Maintain Investor Group in the lender portal, conduct periodic deal reviews, and renew or modify agreements.
• Communicate credit events and actions to clients.
• Pitch complex deal structures independently.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert and mentor junior PMs and Credit Analysts.
• Leverage expertise to provide partners with insights into the bank’s business lines and economics.

• Provide timely performance feedback to employees.
• Develop talent and succession planning.
• Recognize and reward employee accomplishments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of credit analysis or loan review experience in CRE.
• Highly proficient analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
• Strong communication and client‑facing presence.
• Experience managing a complex commercial client portfolio.
• Ability to partner with all deal stakeholders: clients, relationship managers, and credit teams.
• Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
• Proficiency with technology and ability to learn new applications.
• Travel required.

Base salary range: $96,500 – $207,500 per year, commensurate with experience.
