Commercial Credit Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL (On-Site)
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 Base Salary

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing community bank in the Chicago market is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst to join its lending and credit team. This position has become available due to the relocation of a valued team member and offers an excellent opportunity for an analyst who enjoys working closely with commercial lenders and management in a collaborative banking environment.

The bank is looking to move quickly and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze commercial loan requests and prepare detailed credit presentations.
  • Evaluate borrower financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral.
  • Assess credit risk and make recommendations regarding loan structure and approval.
  • Perform financial spreading and ratio analysis.
  • Monitor existing loan relationships and identify emerging credit concerns.
  • Assist lenders with portfolio management and annual credit reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with bank credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare written credit memorandums for management and loan committee review.
  • Support commercial lending activities through thorough credit analysis and risk assessment.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of commercial credit analysis experience within a bank or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and credit risk analysis.
  • Experience analyzing commercial real estate (CRE) and/or C&I loan relationships preferred.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow analyses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
