What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an Sr. Accounting Analyst to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong blend of accounting and financial analysis skills.

We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and naturally curious. They enjoy working with numbers, identifying trends, solving problems, and understanding the financial drivers behind business performance.

Compensation

$95,000/yr - $105,000/yr

Here are some things that will make you successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with some Finance background preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both accounting and other teams
  • CPA certification (preferred)
  • Hands‑on experience with property management accounting software (preferred)
What you will be doing:

The Sr. Accounting Analyst will be responsible for core accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month‑end close activities, while also supporting financial analysis, process improvements, and special projects.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist accounting manager with payroll billbacks.
  • Draft corporate budget and assist with monthly classifications and financial review.
  • Calculate and reconcile monthly CAM charges, percent rent and management fees.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and financial analyses.
  • Review financial statements and identify unusual trends, errors, or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Investigate accounting discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful explanations for financial results.
  • Identify accounting process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Develop tools, reports, and metrics that improve decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with asset management, acquisitions, and property management teams to resolve financial issues.

Projects & Process Improvement

  • Lead and support special projects related to accounting.
  • Assist with system implementations, process automation, and workflow improvements.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Participate in acquisitions, asset management, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Create and maintain documentation for accounting procedures and controls.
  • Facilitate and oversee new acquisition property setup including all credit accounts, utilities, banking, treasury management, accounting and financial accounts within our software, etc.
