PositionThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has the primary responsibility to plan, implement, manage, and conduct all of Vienna Beef’s financial activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiation. The CFO is positioned in the Vienna Beef Senior Management Team and reports to the President & CEO.
Primary Responsibilities- The CFO works closely with the Executive Vice President of the Human Resources Department to procure insurance, benefits, and ensure employee compliance.
- Develop relationships with all company department managers and employees; assist short‑term business and long‑term strategy decisions through consistent interaction with employees and mandatory visitation of all facilities.
- Oversee the Controller and Vice President of IT.
- The Controller supervises the Accounting and Credit Departments, with oversight of 5‑7 employees, and handles accounting functions such as cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, GL updates, closings, account analysis, lender reports, covenant calculations, forecasting, and budgeting.
- The CFO manages relationships with external accounting firms, produces audited financial statements, tax returns, and any required audits, and assists ownership with banking relationships.
- Oversee the IT Department to analyze company requirements, manage hardware, software, and networking assets, perform system upgrades, troubleshoot, and ensure security and backup of all data.
Desired Skills & Experience
- BA degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience.
- Excellent analytical ability and sound judgement.
- Proactive, hands‑on problem solver.
- Cohesive interpersonal communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organization, communicating ideas, facts, and concepts in an understandable and educational manner.
- Proficiency in electronic spreadsheets and ability to manipulate data within acquired databases.
- Expert interpretation of abstract financial analysis and performance concepts.
- Skilled in compiling reports using source data.
