Underwriter Financial Institutions – Retail – Complex Risk

Overview

The Financial Institutions Retail Complex Risk Underwriter will manage a book of business, developing and maintaining broker relationships, analyzing and underwriting professional lines products, and ensuring compliance with guidelines.

• Retain existing business while prospecting new opportunities.
• Manage a book of business of new lines, renewals, and cross‑marketing product lines.
• Analyze and underwrite the complete suite of Professional Lines Products in compliance with applicable guidelines and allocated authority.
• Build and maintain broker professional networks to support profitable originations.
• Maintain understanding of industry issues affecting the Financial Institutions marketplace.
• Perform broker marketing calls, including out‑of‑state travel.
• Meet divisional servicing objectives including quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, file maintenance and documentation.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3–5 years of commercial insurance experience.
• Exposure to Management Liability Products.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage peak period workflows.
• Effective strategic relationship and portfolio management.
• Collaboration and versatility to work independently and in a team.
• Client and broker solution orientation.

Chicago, IL. Hybrid schedule: 4 days on‑site requested, flexible with travel.

• Base salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 (dependent on experience and location).
