Compensation
Compensation range: $45,000 – $75,000. The salary range listed reflects the base pay for this role and is provided where required by local regulations. Actual offers may differ based on experience, market conditions, and other relevant factors. This range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, equity, benefits, or other incentives.
Job SummaryWe are adding a new Real Estate Valuation Analyst to our Valuation, Advisory & Analytics group. The position is hybrid and will be based out of the Chicago office. You will join a collaborative, dynamic team, gaining experience in appraisal, appraisal review and appraisal management for all property types, and learning to set up and manage the client workflow process with the Argus Intelligence Platform.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Argus certification and grow knowledge in Commercial Real Estate.
- Participate in a range of real estate property projects across the country, gaining insights into property valuations and appraisals with a diverse team.
- Perform appraisal management tasks, supporting the client process, creating administrative workflows, drafting engagement letters, and scheduling calls.
- Prepare and review cash flow models using Argus Enterprise based on factual data such as rent rolls, operating statements, tenant sales and other financial information.
- Conduct market analysis for properties, gathering data about the market and submarket and determining valuation assumptions such as market rent, rent growth and investment yields.
- Review third‑party appraisal reports, evaluating terms and conditions for factual and market assumptions, comparing metrics to benchmark data and ensuring compliance with USPAP and state regulations.
- Complete onboarding and core competency training, Business Practices, Ethics & USPAP, and Basic Appraisal Principles and Procedures, and become Argus Certified.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field; internships in the CRE industry are desirable.
- Strong business writing, research, quantitative and analytical skills to conduct end‑to‑end appraisal reviews.
- Proficient in Excel (X‑lookups, pivot tables, DCF models); familiarity with Argus Enterprise is a plus.
- Proactive, resourceful, and committed to continuous learning and certification.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and ability to convey technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed.
