The Energy & Natural Resources Industry Group of Reed Smith LLP is seeking a mid‑level associate with three to five years of experience to join the finance team located in the Chicago office.
Responsibilities & Expectations- Drafting and negotiation of large syndicated financing facilities.
- Managing junior associates and paralegals in finance matters.
- Providing oral and written communications to clients.
- Maintaining organization and timeline across cross‑border and domestic financing transactions.
- Exceling in commercial lending, trade finance, securitizations, receivables and supplier financing.
- Three to five years of experience in finance and transactional law.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent drafting experience on large syndicated financing facilities.
- Ability to manage junior staff and paralegals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Admitted to the IL Bar or reciprocity from another state with IL.
- Experience working with clients in the commodities industry is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, strong character, intellectual curiosity, and sense of humor.
- Salary range: $235,000 - $365,000 (actual pay may vary based on location and experience).
