Position: Benefit Change Specialist-Chicago, IL

Benefit Change Specialist

Location:

Chicago, IL Duration: 6 months temp to perm

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Enrollment Administration, this position will be responsible for receiving and implementing benefit change requests from our clients. This position requires the ability to collaborate with the Client Service team as well as Underwriting and other functional areas.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze (auditing) data files, comparing information to our internal system to identify any coverage changes.
  • Evaluate the identified coverage changes to determine whether any additional information needs to be collected.
  • Evaluate the identified coverage changes to ensure that all rates provided to the customer are accurate.
  • Collaborate with Client Services team on any discrepancies that need escalation
  • Evaluate identified changes to determine if the adjustment can be made with the information provided or if additional information is needed
  • Analyze all changes to identify true changes versus entry errors.
  • Process benefits changes in the system and document accordingly.
  • Track changes through Salesforce workflow tool to confirm completion of the process.
  • Prepare customer correspondence using applicable systems and templates.
  • Process a high volume of requests with accuracy.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of benefits files.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables/formulas, VLook-up)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Ability to effectively execute on a task, drive for results, and take accountability for outcomes
  • Sound judgment and ability to problem solve and analyze data
  • Sound organizational and time management skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in benefit administration strongly preferred
  • Experience in Life, Accident and Health Insurance considered a plus
