What you’ll be doing

Join our Commercial Real Estate team as a Senior Asset Manager, where you’ll play a critical role in managing a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate loans. As a Senior Asset Manager, you’ll underwrite and amend existing deals, ensuring all client needs are met throughout the post‑closing loan life cycle. You’ll be accountable for the accuracy and quality of all materials presented for your assigned portfolio, working closely with clients to build strong relationships and deliver tailored solutions.

Your expertise in commercial real estate underwriting across all asset classes will be key to identifying opportunities and mitigating risks. You’ll collaborate with internal partners to support the ongoing success of our clients and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within an in‑office work arrangement where you’ll spend 4 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed
  • Portfolio Management – Oversee the full post‑closing loan life cycle for your assigned portfolio, ensuring all client and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Underwriting and Amendments – Conduct thorough underwriting and amend existing deals, applying your expertise across all commercial real estate asset classes.
  • Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and tailored financial solutions.
  • Risk Assessment – Identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the portfolio to ensure the long‑term success of both clients and the bank.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams, including credit, legal, and operations, to support seamless execution of transactions.
  • Reporting and Documentation – Prepare and present accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Who you are

    . You bring 8+ years of commercial real estate underwriting experience, with a strong track record managing all asset classes and post‑closing loan processes.
  • You have the right education
    . You have a four‑year degree in business, finance, or a related field.

    . You take pride in your accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring all materials and reports meet the highest standards.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $ - $ for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
