Status: Regular, Full‑Time, Exempt
The Financial Analyst will support the newly formed Accounting Group within the Specialty Loss Group (SLG). The role involves evaluating financial and operational information, organizing data, and assisting with reports and financial calculations. The position requires strong Excel skills, organization, critical thinking, and clear communication.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, accounting records, and operational data to identify trends, variances, and key findings.
- Organize and summarize large amounts of data in a clear and concise manner.
- Assist in reviewing claim‑related financial information and supporting documentation.
- Prepare spreadsheets, summaries, and reports using Excel and other internal systems.
- Support the preparation of financial projections and loss calculations as needed.
- Assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis projects and reporting requests.
- Communicate findings verbally and in written form with clarity and professionalism.
- Prepare client‑facing reports and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in all work products.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership on assignments and project deadlines.
- Maintain organized work papers, documentation, and electronic files.
- Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Show flexibility and willingness to support evolving business needs and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field).
- 1–3 years of experience in the Insurance Industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with financial statements, accounting data, or operational reporting preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude with strong energy and willingness to learn.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and performing detailed analysis.
- Strong sense of accountability and follow‑through.
- Professional demeanor and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Work is generally performed in a typical office environment, with limited exposure to harsh weather conditions, loud noise, fumes, or significant temperature changes. Occasional overnight travel in a work capacity may be required.
Physical Activities and RequirementsLift and carry up to 10 lbs.; frequent standing, sitting, walking, and bending; occasional kneeling, reaching, and stooping. Handling office equipment; periodic driving may be required. Visual acuity to prepare and read detailed hard copy and electronic documents; ability to speak and hear in normal face‑to‑face and telephonic business communications.
