What You'll Do

As a Tax Manager within the Business Tax Services group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. You will work directly with the client, manage the tax engagement team, have access to specialists when needed, and be connected to a strong support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career.

Qualifications Required
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires U.S. tax professionals to co‑locate in person 2-3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations (obtained):
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed Attorney
      • Enrolled Agent
      • Certifications:

        Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Preferred
  • Advanced degree (MST, JD, and/or LLM)
  • Prior Big 4/large CPA firm experience
  • Fiduciary income, transfer tax, and exempt-entity compliance/consulting for trusts, estates, and tax-exempt organizations
  • Review and management of IRS filings (Forms 706, 1041, 1040)
  • Cross-border compliance: identify foreign reporting obligations and prepare/advise on international/informational returns (e.g., 5471, 8858, 8865, 3520, 3520-A)
  • U.S. tax structuring for multi-jurisdiction inheritance/succession planning, including domestic and foreign trust structures
  • Strong tax research, technical writing, and issue‑spotting; able to explain complex issues to clients and non-tax stakeholders
Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,350-$179,875. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
