Job Title

Underwriter - FHA

$85,000 to $100,000 + Bonus

• Underwrite residential loans ensuring compliance with company and investor standards.
• Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness and work with loan originators or production staff to secure all required documents.
• Involved in conventional, government‑backed, and other mortgage lending products.
• Work with senior underwriters on loan exceptions, including the authority to withdraw and decline loans.
• Respond directly to individual and investor audits.
• Handle all levels of underwriting authority and exception levels.

• 7+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of FHA, Conventional, and USDA/RD underwriting experience.
• Experience under multiple lender guidelines and requirements.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae/DU and Freddie Mac/LP guidelines and automated underwriting systems.
• Ability to critically examine credit, income, asset documents, title policy, and appraisals.
• Experience with Encompass and GUS preferred.
