29th Street Capital is seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial, and relationship-oriented Vice President or Senior Vice President of Acquisitions to lead the firm’s investment activity across Texas.

This role is defined by ownership of a region. You will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, and executing multifamily investments throughout Texas while developing and maintaining long‑term relationships with brokers, owners, lenders, and other market participants.

The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of originating and closing multifamily investments, possesses exceptional investment judgment, and is motivated by building a scalable pipeline in one of the country's most competitive and dynamic markets.

Success in this role will be measured by the quality of relationships built, opportunities sourced, investment recommendations made, and transactions successfully executed across the region.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary acquisitions lead for Texas, with full responsibility for pipeline development and market coverage.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with brokers, owners, lenders, developers, and local operators to source both marketed and off‑market investment opportunities.
  • Develop proprietary deal flow through consistent market coverage, targeted outreach, and relationship cultivation.
  • Maintain real‑time market intelligence across Texas, including supply pipelines, rent trends, capital markets, demographic shifts, and transaction activity.
  • Lead underwriting and review of detailed financial models and return analyses of multifamily investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate operating performance, rent rolls, market assumptions, capital expenditure programs, and business plans to identify investment risks and value creation opportunities.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present opportunities to senior leadership and the Investment Committee with clear, well‑supported recommendations.
  • Structure and negotiate Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and other transaction documentation in partnership with legal counsel.
  • Lead due diligence and closing processes while coordinating internal departments, lenders, consultants, and third‑party service providers.
  • Partner closely with Asset Management to ensure underwriting assumptions translate into executable business plans following acquisition.
  • Work alongside the Capital Markets team to develop financing strategies and support lender relationships throughout the acquisition process.
  • Support investor communications as needed by preparing investment summaries, market commentary, and transaction materials for prospective and existing investment partners.
  • Contribute to the continued refinement of 29th Street Capital’s investment strategy through thoughtful market insight, competitive intelligence, and disciplined investment analysis.
Qualifications & Profile
  • At least eight years of experience in multifamily acquisitions, real estate private equity, institutional real estate investment, investment banking, or a similarly rigorous investment role.
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing, negotiating, and executing multifamily acquisitions, preferably throughout Texas or broader Sun Belt markets.
  • Established broker relationships throughout Texas and a demonstrated ability to generate proprietary and relationship‑driven investment opportunities are strongly preferred.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with extensive experience underwriting institutional‑quality multifamily investments.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily operations, capital structures, debt financing, and investment performance metrics including NOI, IRR, equity multiples, and cash‑on‑cash returns.
  • Experience negotiating Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and transaction terms through closing.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA, CFA, or other advanced professional credentials are welcomed but not required.
