Position Overview

As a Sr. Relationship Manager within PNC’s Corporate Banking organization, you will be based in Chicago, IL. You will work with mid‑market clients (revenue of $100 million or more) and be responsible for setting relationship strategies to grow sales, revenue and market share within a book of business.

Job Description
  • Set relationship strategies and direct relationship management activities with new and/or existing clients.
  • Work independently and may mentor other team members.
  • Create and drive strategies to acquire, expand and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet.
  • Originate, analyze financing, negotiate and document credit and non‑credit products and services.
  • Manage risk/return and drive quality for new and existing clients.
  • Identify and mitigate regulatory, reputational, operational and credit risks.
  • Focus on client opportunities by providing ideas and insights based on an understanding of the client’s needs and financial well‑being.
  • Drive client engagement and loyalty, generating ideas and best practices within Relationship Management.
  • Manage effective networks of senior internal and external relationships to actively acquire new clients and expand existing clients and enhance the client experience.
  • Present the full range of PNC’s products and services to clients, leveraging reporting and sales tools.
  • Use advanced credit fundamentals and internal policies to evaluate and mitigate credit risk for complex requests.
Expectations
  • Customer focused: align client needs and satisfaction in all decisions, using customer insights to create customized solutions.
  • Managing risk: assess, manage and support PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s or PhD desirable.
  • 8+ years of industry experience, preferably in corporate banking or middle‑market lending.
  • Strong knowledge of credit processes and products, financial analysis, sales negotiation and portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in building client relationships, portfolio management, industry knowledge and effective communication.
  • Tech savvy and comfortable using sales and reporting tools.

  • Book of business development, client relationship building, credit analysis and verification.
  • Customer engagement, decision making, financial analysis, sales negotiation.
  • Portfolio management, prospecting, sales and tech skills.
Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree required; no specific certifications or licenses are mandatory.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $ – $ (varies by location, market data and individual skills, experience and education). This role is incentive eligible and compensation is based on company, business and/or individual performance.
