A large, privately held infrastructure and power development company with a national portfolio spanning solar, wind, natural gas, energy storage, and transmission is seeking a Tax Manager - Investor Services to own a critical and highly visible function within its tax organization.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys building and owning complex processes, working cross-functionally with FP&A and Finance, and serving as the go-to resource for investor tax reporting and tax forecasting in a dynamic, deal-heavy environment.
What You'll Do:- Own and continuously improve the tax forecasting process including taxable income calculations, cash tax projections, estimated payment projections, and tax distribution and allocation calculations
- Partner with FP&A and Finance to align the tax forecast with business plans, budgets, and long-range projections, maintaining actual and forecasted books by legal entity
- Analyze forecast-to-actual variances and communicate key drivers to internal stakeholders
- Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses based on contemplated business planning and transactions
- Monitor tax law changes and analyze transaction impacts in partnership with the tax planning team
- Prepare and review investor tax reporting deliverables including K-1 equivalent information, investor tax packages, and supporting schedules
- Serve as a key contact for tax-related questions from investors and internal stakeholders
- Present quarterly results to senior leadership
- Own and maintain complex tax compliance calculations requiring quarterly updates including Section 163(j) limitations and transaction analysis
- Create and own processes and work papers to retrieve data from system applications including Oracle and One Stream to support tax return preparation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience
- Master's in Taxation or CPA a plus
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and state tax principles
- Partnership taxation experience preferred
- Prior experience in energy, power, real estate, infrastructure, or manufacturing a plus
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and data management skills
- Proficiency in Oracle, One Stream, and Excel
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
