Director, Project Finance & Capital Markets
Location: Austin, TX or Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
We're partnering with a leading energy infrastructure company (utility-scale BESS) to identify a Director, Project Finance & Capital Markets
. This organization is a rapidly growing owner and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage assets with a significant portfolio of projects in operation, under construction, and development across the U.S.
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced project finance professional to play a key role in structuring and executing complex financing transactions that support the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead project finance and capital markets transactions from diligence through financial close.
- Own and oversee financial models for utility-scale energy storage projects across development, construction, and operations.
- Structure and execute project finance debt, tax equity, structured equity, and other financing transactions.
- Coordinate due diligence, third-party advisors, lenders, investors, and legal counsel throughout transaction execution.
- Partner cross-functionally with Development, Commercial, Engineering, Accounting, Tax, and Legal teams.
- Lead financial analysis, scenario modeling, and investment recommendations for senior leadership.
- Review financing documentation and support negotiations with external counter parties.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices for transaction execution and financial modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, private equity, renewable energy, or a related advisory environment.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including project finance debt and tax equity structures.
- Experience managing complex financing transactions and working with external lenders, investors, and advisors.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience with utility-scale renewable energy or battery energy storage projects is highly preferred.
Location: Hybrid schedule based in Austin, TX or Chicago, IL
