Job Description & How to Apply Below
If you're a strong planner who wants your analysis to matter in the room, not disappear into a report, this is the seat.
We've built Thrive Wealth Group around helping people make connected retirement decisions across income, investments, health care, taxes, and legacy. Now we need a Financial Planner who can turn clean data and thoughtful modeling into clear decisions. You'll work closely with our founder in Lincolnshire and earn more responsibility through judgment and follow-through.
What you'll do- Build and maintain eMoney plans, validate inputs and assumptions, model scenarios, and catch misleading outputs before they reach a client conversation.
- Prepare retirement-income and client-review analysis across income, investments, health care, taxes, insurance, and legacy considerations.
- Surface the important tradeoffs, missing facts, and decisions before meetings, then turn technical findings into language clients can understand.
- Work with our founder and local team to prepare and participate in client meetings, complete clean handoffs, and elevate regulated or specialist questions.
- Substantive planning work inside an established retirement practice. This role starts with planning, not a mandate to build a book from zero.
- Direct access to Ben Heizer, our Principal and Founder, with visible influence on how plans are built and reviews are prepared.
- An eMoney-focused environment and a local support team around the planning relationship.
- A path to greater client and advice responsibility when your judgment earns it, and the scope is clearly defined.
- A Lincolnshire-centered role with regular in-office collaboration.
- You have personally built or materially updated financial plans, pressure-tested assumptions, and used the analysis to improve a recommendation or client conversation.
- You understand how retirement income, investments, health care, taxes, insurance, and legacy decisions interact.
- You can explain a complex tradeoff plainly, own detailed work without constant review, and respond well to direct founder feedback.
- You have current eMoney experience, or deep experience in comparable planning software and a credible path to becoming productive quickly.
- By your start date, you will hold an active Series 65 or Series 66. For this search, a CFP, CPA, or CFA designation does not replace that license requirement.
- By your start date, you will also hold an active life insurance license. A credible licensing path is acceptable during the interview process.
- You are primarily looking for lead flow, a portable book, payout economics, or a pure closing role.
- You can operate planning software but do not challenge assumptions or explain why the output matters.
- You want remote-first work, avoid detailed plan construction, or leave follow-through for someone else.
If you can show us a plan you personally built or repaired, the assumptions you challenged, and how your work made an advisor or client better prepared, we'd like to hear from you.
