LTP is a premier publisher of liturgical and pastoral materials in English and Spanish. Established by the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1964, LTP promotes theliturgical formation of the faithful called for by Sacrosanct um concilium of the Second Vatican Council. Dedicated to developing resources for the assembly,clergy, liturgical ministers, and all who study the liturgy, LTP produces books,videos, workshops, and other training materials so all the faithful may “becomethoroughly imbued with the spirit and power of the liturgy” (SC, 14).

LTP is seeking a Financial Accountant to record and monitor the financial assetsand liabilities of the organization, ensure the timely processing of payables,assist with processing of receivables and issuance of credit, and to provide an accurate accounting of financial results monthly and annually relative tobudgeted expectations. This role serves as a resource for the executive team inthe areas of financial performance, budgeting and the proper application ofGAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the Finance team, and direct support of the management team,you’ll help ensure the financial health and accounting practices of the organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • To record, monitor and administer all financial assets and liabilities of the organization; keeping Executive Team informed of standard accounting procedures that conform with GAAP.
  • To maintain all corporate bank accounts, transferring funds between savings and checking as appropriate; keeping Publisher and Executive Director and Director of Business Operations abreast of transfer needs and bank reconciliation issues.
  • To serve as the primary person responsible for the creation of the annual FYBudget, providing the needed source information to directors for expense and revenue projections along with responsibility for forecasting assignedrevenue and expense items.
  • To process payables on schedule using the designated payment method andensure all expenses are recorded to the correct expense category.
  • To administer the processing and disbursement of payroll in a timely,accurate and confidential manner, ensuring all withholding and voluntary deductions are accurate.
  • To create and maintain on a determined schedule the organizational financial statements and sales performance reporting for directors’ review, providing insights and recommendations based on the reports.
  • To prepare and process the annual 1099 forms and all other tax-related reports; submitting to Director of Business Operations all those requiring asignature.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual that understands accounting and financial analysis. Other qualifications include:

  • Degree in Accounting or related field, and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management.
  • Understanding of GAAP and the implications on financial operations.
  • Previous exposure to purchasing and inventory control systems.
  • Experience analyzing financial reports and other measures, providingrecommendations to management.
  • Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office Suite and Quick Books.
  • Experience in creating financial and management reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and office skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of publishing industry, royalty processing, and accounts receivablea plus.
  • Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Churchteaching, mission and values.

This position has an annualized salary range of $58,000 - $65,000. An employee’spay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
