Job Overview
PGIM’s Corporate Mezzanine Fund is seeking an Analyst to help grow the initiative. The role is a hybrid position based in Chicago, IL, with the team on site three times a week. The Analyst will report to an Executive Director on the Central Mezzanine Team and will gain direct buy‑side experience across senior and junior capital investments.
Responsibilities- Build and analyze detailed financial models to evaluate mezzanine debt and structured equity investments
- Perform comprehensive underwriting, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioning
- Prepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision‑making process
- Support transaction execution and due diligence, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Monitor an active portfolio of junior capital investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metrics
- Assist with quarterly valuations, portfolio reviews, and ongoing portfolio management initiatives
- Occasionally support fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing content
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record; major in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred
- 1–3 years of relevant experience emphasizing financial analysis, with proficiency in interpreting financial statements and evaluating business risks
- Excellent analytical and accounting skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong understanding of capital markets, including debt and equity security terms and valuation methodologies
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Previous experience in investment banking, asset management, portfolio management, leveraged finance, transactions advisory, or valuations
- Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program
- Competitive base salary (US $85,000 to US $90,000)
